All right. So, today we're going to talk
(00:00:01)
about Jupiter in astrology. What does he
(00:00:03)
mean both in the natal chart and in
(00:00:05)
transit for those of you going through
(00:00:07)
Jupiter transits at the moment? So, up
(00:00:10)
to this point we've talked about the
(00:00:12)
personal planets Mercury, Venus, and
(00:00:14)
Mars, as well as the luminaries, the sun
(00:00:16)
and moon. And so, now we get to a brand
(00:00:19)
new set of planets called the outer
(00:00:21)
planets, which are much more to do with
(00:00:24)
the less surface level aspects of our
(00:00:27)
experience. there's still our
(00:00:29)
personality but not as much of a
(00:00:31)
personality and not as much of an
(00:00:32)
individual personality as say your you
(00:00:36)
know Mercury sign or your sun and moon
(00:00:37)
you know especially so this is less to
(00:00:40)
do with our normal everyday interactions
(00:00:42)
and more to do with a bigger view the
(00:00:44)
larger view of life um and especially as
(00:00:47)
you get further away it's much deeper
(00:00:49)
right now the sign placement very
(00:00:52)
general because as you can imagine these
(00:00:54)
plants move very slowly through the
(00:00:55)
constellation so anyone with similar
(00:00:57)
signs It's more of a generational thing
(00:00:59)
with the out with the outer planets, but
(00:01:01)
once you get into the house placement,
(00:01:03)
it does get quite personal. So, um you
(00:01:06)
know, having Jupiter in the seventh
(00:01:07)
house, for example, the house of
(00:01:09)
relationships, this is someone where
(00:01:11)
that Jupiter energy really does come
(00:01:13)
alive in their relationships and really
(00:01:14)
would shape their personality quite a
(00:01:16)
bit. So it depends on you know
(00:01:18)
specifically the uh how personal it is
(00:01:21)
and houses are very personal because
(00:01:23)
they're based on your birth time and
(00:01:25)
also you know looking at how it's done
(00:01:28)
through the signs gives it that hue and
(00:01:30)
especially if you have any aspects to
(00:01:32)
personal planets from the outer planet
(00:01:34)
you know if you have like a trine from
(00:01:36)
Pluto to like your moon that would be
(00:01:39)
very very personal to you shaping your
(00:01:41)
moon energy so a lot of it depends on
(00:01:43)
reading the chart holistically but
(00:01:45)
generally the outer planet planets are
(00:01:47)
much less personal on a daily sort of
(00:01:50)
experience and much and much deeper
(00:01:51)
slowly deeper. Now Jupiter is obviously
(00:01:53)
the first of the outer planets. Saturn 2
(00:01:56)
not as deep as say Uranus and Neptune
(00:01:58)
but um there is that gap between
(00:02:00)
certainly Venus, Mars and now the next
(00:02:03)
set of polarities Jupiter Saturn. So
(00:02:05)
that's essentially what we're looking at
(00:02:07)
is Jupiter Saturn. The next set of
(00:02:09)
polarities these are uh planets that
(00:02:11)
essentially have to do with our world
(00:02:12)
view. They have to do with our
(00:02:14)
perspective on life and how we create in
(00:02:17)
life. Jupiter is our expansive energies
(00:02:20)
of that, seeing what's possible. Whereas
(00:02:23)
Saturn is refining that, taking the
(00:02:26)
inspiration and actually making it into
(00:02:28)
something real. So you can see it as
(00:02:31)
masculine and feminine. However, as you
(00:02:33)
start to get to these outer planets,
(00:02:35)
they do take on a little bit more of an
(00:02:37)
an androgynous sort of nature to them.
(00:02:40)
Um, but you know, they do certainly have
(00:02:42)
both polarities as all planets do. I
(00:02:44)
mean even Mars for example has Scorpio
(00:02:46)
energy which is the feminine side to to
(00:02:49)
that but u the best way I like to look
(00:02:51)
at it is Jupiter is what's possible it's
(00:02:53)
the inspiration it's the expansion and
(00:02:56)
Saturn is the refinement and the
(00:02:58)
discipline to make that you know that
(00:03:00)
possibility into reality so there's a
(00:03:03)
couple things you can notice about
(00:03:04)
Jupiter in the sky one is that he's very
(00:03:07)
bright he's the second largest planet
(00:03:09)
behind Venus yet he's very distant so
(00:03:12)
those two elements in and of themsel
(00:03:13)
mselves can give you a pretty good idea
(00:03:15)
of what Jupiter represents. You know,
(00:03:17)
like Venus, you know, she's bright in
(00:03:19)
the sky. Jupiter's also very bright. So,
(00:03:21)
it's about mag like what we're
(00:03:23)
magnetized to. What is it that we value?
(00:03:26)
But where Venus was more on the daily
(00:03:28)
mundane value such as through
(00:03:30)
relationships and material things uh you
(00:03:33)
know, experiences that we're having uh
(00:03:36)
on a more daily level such as you know,
(00:03:38)
good meal and things like that. Jupiter
(00:03:40)
is much more about our ideals for the
(00:03:42)
future. what we value in the long term,
(00:03:44)
you know, where we have that seeing, you
(00:03:47)
know, what we want, but where we know it
(00:03:49)
does take time and where there's also an
(00:03:52)
element of luck involved in terms of
(00:03:54)
it's far away, so more outside of our
(00:03:56)
control, right? Venus, Mars very much in
(00:03:58)
our control. Jupiter, Saturn, yes, but
(00:04:01)
less so, right? And much bigger picture.
(00:04:04)
So, uh, Jupiter is essentially that, you
(00:04:07)
know, it's what we value in the big
(00:04:09)
picture. So ideals, it's our visions,
(00:04:12)
it's seeing what's possible. And you
(00:04:15)
know, because of that, it's just
(00:04:17)
naturally a planet that we have an
(00:04:19)
overarching worldview about our overall
(00:04:22)
life. So we have that top- down
(00:04:23)
perspective. And with that top- down
(00:04:25)
perspective naturally comes um optimism
(00:04:29)
because we're able to see how everything
(00:04:31)
fits together a little bit, you know,
(00:04:34)
clearer in that particular area of life
(00:04:36)
or in that particular way. So because of
(00:04:39)
that overarching view, we have optimism
(00:04:41)
about it and we can see how things sort
(00:04:42)
of fit together with it and what could
(00:04:45)
arise from it. Now the other element
(00:04:47)
that the overarching view does give us
(00:04:49)
is wisdom and that's another very
(00:04:51)
important characteristic of Jupiter is
(00:04:53)
where especially over time we gain
(00:04:55)
wisdom from that perspective. So those
(00:04:58)
are two very important uh personality
(00:05:00)
characteristics where we have wisdom
(00:05:02)
where we have that optimism and that
(00:05:04)
overarching worldview. Now there's
(00:05:06)
another element of Jupiter that's not
(00:05:08)
talked about too often and this is that
(00:05:10)
traditionally Jupiter ruled Pisces and
(00:05:12)
Pisces is about trust. It's about faith
(00:05:16)
and that's a big part of Jupiter. You
(00:05:18)
know because of that view we do have
(00:05:20)
this sense of sitting back and allowing
(00:05:22)
life to guide us where it is meant to
(00:05:25)
guide us. So that's a you know big part
(00:05:27)
of it is where we do have that
(00:05:29)
willingness to go with the flow and end
(00:05:32)
wherever it is that we're going to end
(00:05:33)
up. So and then through that obviously
(00:05:35)
does come that uh that optimism which
(00:05:38)
actually leads to in many cases uh luck
(00:05:41)
you know and then that's when we're
(00:05:43)
actually looking for luck we can see the
(00:05:45)
lucky things that do happen to us and
(00:05:47)
that's a big part of uh that sort of
(00:05:49)
energy. So there could be good fortune
(00:05:51)
here. Now the you know the sign
(00:05:53)
placement and the aspects and all this
(00:05:55)
does determine the outcome of a Jupiter
(00:05:57)
either transit or Jupiter in the natal
(00:05:59)
chart. So you want to look at that. But
(00:06:01)
the initial cause of Jupiter usually is
(00:06:04)
from that more light-hearted perspective
(00:06:06)
and then the result does depend on the
(00:06:08)
other particulars of the chart. So let's
(00:06:11)
go and look at an example. Let's say
(00:06:13)
that Jupiter in the seventh house. So
(00:06:14)
7th house is about relationships and
(00:06:16)
one-on-one connections. This is someone
(00:06:18)
who has that overarching view of
(00:06:20)
relationships. And so from that wisdom
(00:06:23)
and optimism, so the way they interact
(00:06:25)
is probably quite buoyant with other
(00:06:27)
individuals. they have a lot of wisdom
(00:06:29)
to share. There's usually that theme of
(00:06:31)
exchanging wisdom through their
(00:06:33)
connections and u where they could have
(00:06:36)
some good luck and fortune. Now one
(00:06:38)
thing I want to say too about this whole
(00:06:39)
luck and fortune thing with Jupiter is
(00:06:41)
that you know Jupiter by himself is just
(00:06:44)
feeling good. It's inspiration but we
(00:06:46)
really have to bring in the elements of
(00:06:48)
Saturn which is refining those
(00:06:50)
inspirations and refining what's
(00:06:52)
possible in order to make it into a
(00:06:54)
reality. Otherwise, a door might open,
(00:06:56)
possibility might come up, but we may
(00:06:58)
not do anything about it. Saturn is more
(00:07:00)
about grounding it and making it into
(00:07:01)
something real. So, it's important to
(00:07:03)
bring in both. So, this individual here
(00:07:05)
could certainly have luck and
(00:07:07)
opportunities through people or with
(00:07:08)
people, but they would really benefit
(00:07:10)
from bringing that extra dose of
(00:07:12)
responsibility, discipline, and hard
(00:07:14)
work to make those possibilities into a
(00:07:16)
reality.
(00:07:18)
So, that's the house placement. You've
(00:07:19)
also got the sign placement, which
(00:07:21)
again, the sign is more collective in
(00:07:23)
nature. uh let's say an individual has
(00:07:25)
Jupiter in Virgo. So these individuals
(00:07:28)
have this um again view of things but
(00:07:31)
the way in which they have that world
(00:07:33)
view is through analyzing is through
(00:07:36)
taking care of the details is through
(00:07:39)
self-improvement or just improvement in
(00:07:41)
general whether it's with theirelves or
(00:07:43)
you know whatever it might be. So if
(00:07:45)
Jupiter's in the seventh house in Virgo,
(00:07:47)
their approach to the way in which
(00:07:50)
they're positive, optimistic, and wise
(00:07:52)
is by analyzing, is by taking care of
(00:07:55)
the details, is by crossing those tees,
(00:07:57)
dotting those eyes. So the sign is the
(00:08:00)
way in which it's done. The house is the
(00:08:02)
area of life in which it takes place.
(00:08:04)
All right, so hopefully this gives you
(00:08:05)
guys a general look at Jupiter in terms
(00:08:07)
of what he means fundamentally. If you
(00:08:09)
have any questions, please do comment
(00:08:10)
down below and I will see you all next
(00:08:12)
time for Saturn. Take care.
